1. Who I am
Alterra is a one-person Messenger AI automation studio operated by Justine Panganiban (the “Service Provider”), based in Batangas, Philippines. Contact: justinepanganiban2008@gmail.com.
2. What data I collect
When you message the Alterra Facebook Page or use the chat widget on this site, the following data is processed:
- The content of your messages to the Alterra Page or widget
- Your Facebook Page-Scoped ID (PSID), which Meta provides when you message a business Page. This is a unique identifier specific to your conversation with Alterra and cannot be used to identify you outside this conversation.
- Your first name and profile picture, if your Facebook privacy settings allow Pages to see them
- Timestamps of your messages
- For chat widget visitors: a randomly generated session ID stored in your browser’s sessionStorage to maintain conversation context within one visit. This is not linked to any personal identity.
3. How I use this data
Your messages are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate appropriate replies. Your conversation history is stored to maintain context across multiple messages within the same conversation. Data is used solely to provide the chatbot service — no advertising, no profiling, no resale, no use in unrelated AI training.
4. How data is stored
Conversation data is stored on Railway (United States region) in a SQLite database. Data is retained for up to 90 days, after which conversation history is automatically purged. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing justinepanganiban2008@gmail.com.
5. Third parties
Your messages are processed by the following services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Anthropic — to generate AI replies. anthropic.com/legal/privacy
- Meta Platforms — to deliver messages through Messenger. facebook.com/privacy/policy
- Railway — to host the backend service. railway.app/legal/privacy
- Vercel — to host this website. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
No other parties have access to your data.
6. Your rights
You can request: (a) a copy of the data Alterra holds about you, (b) deletion of that data, (c) correction of inaccurate data. Email justinepanganiban2008@gmail.com with your request and Alterra will respond within 7 business days.
7. Children
Alterra’s service is intended for business owners and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has interacted with the service, contact justinepanganiban2008@gmail.com to request deletion.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will reflect that. Material changes will be announced on this page.
